The pressure is on! As the last major awards show of the season, is the last chance for stars to make a standout impression on the red carpet. For that reason, A-listers really go all out on Oscars night and we have the proof to back it up. Sixty-plus years of proof, in fact.
We dug into our archives and unearthed the dresses from Oscars past that met the three B’s: bold, beautiful, and breathtaking. We started with who selected a cloud of black tulle for the 23rd Academy Awards in 1951 (above, center).
