How to Wear Spring Trends Now (Despite the Snow!)

For the most part, spring is already here, with seasonal ad campaigns out and new arrivals in stores—and if you live out West. But for those us who reside on the East Coast, spring seems like a lifetime away (we mean, come on, it’s snowing right now here in N.Y.C.). Pretty floral pieces, sheer fabrics, the thought of bare legs outside—just all things spring—have us wishing for warmer weather, stat.

But fight it as we might, we’re powerless in the face of Mother Nature. And so, we’ve decided to make the best of a bad situation and introduce spring trends to our wardrobe now. We looked to celebrities like (above) for inspiration. She eschewed skinnies and worked the wide-leg pant trend (a major silhouette for spring), while sticking to the same color family, styling her cobalt pair with a baby blue topper.

From the ’70s trend to little white dresses, here are all the ways to pull off spring trends now:

Vote Now! Which Celebrity Fragrance Should Win an Award?

Though awards season has wrapped, the Oscars of the perfume world are just upon us! Nominees for the Consumer’s Choice category of the Fragrance Foundation Awards, an annual event honoring the year’s best achievements in scent, were announced today, with a trio of familiar faces among the list of contenders. The recent spritzers launched by , , and have all been nominated for the Consumer’s Choice Award in the popular category, making it even harder for us to choose a favorite among the list of luxe offerings already on the lineup.

Each scent couldn’t be more different from the next: While Vergara’s eponymous fragrance ($55; ) blends gourmand notes like vanilla, plum, and blackberry, Simpson’s Signature ($49; ) errs on the sweeter side of the spectrum with dominant orange blossom, white chocolate, and jasmine elements. As the wild card of the bunch, T. Swift’s Incredible Things ($40; ) blends unexpected notes like pink pepper, suede, and musk, but gets a bright twist with the addition of lemon and passion flower.

The Consumer’s Choice category is one where fans can vote on their favorite scent to win, and although the polls don’t officially open until March 16, we want to know: Which fragrance are you rooting for? Head over to to see the full list of nominees, and sound off in our poll below to let us know which celeb contender should take home the honor.

Closet Boot Camp: Get Your Kitchen Pantry Organized in 5 Easy Steps

Organize Your Kitchen Pantry

A gorgeous pantry is like an invitation to cook and entertain—all the more reason to spruce it up a bit. “Just because it’s a storage space doesn’t mean you have to fill every inch,” says , designer and host of  on HGTV Canada. Instead, strike a balance by putting your beautiful items on display and creating a neat arrangement of your daily essentials.

Read on for our expert tips to getting your dream pantry.

Pop the Plates

Rather than hide china and stemware in a closet (or worse, in a packing crate), think of them as jewelry for the pantry and show them off. Painting the walls and shelves gray makes white pieces stand out.

Avoid Dish Disasters

Shelve plates where you can reach them so there’s no worry about dropping a dozen dishes from atop a step stool. Save high storage for vases since you don’t need 12 at a time.

Get in the Zone

Drawers can be organized by meal, container type, or even family member. The only rule is to find a system you can stick to. Place dividers inside to hold loose packets and condiments.

Entertain with Ease

Keep an area free of clutter to use while hosting. For parties, stock simple appetizers (crackers, nuts, olives), bottled water, and wine that you can whip out at a moment’s notice.

Go Vertical

A single well-placed design fix can transform a pantry’s entire storage potential. Installing vertical shelf dividers for cutting boards, cooling racks, and baking sheets maximizes space.

Watch Ryan Reynolds Take Down Jimmy Fallon in Egg Russian Roulette

When you think of sharing some eggs with , you probably don’t envision smashing them on his head. But  took that very approach when the actor stopped by The Tonight Show on Monday and challenged him to a game of Egg Russian Roulette.

and Woman in Gold star got off to a strong start, picking a hard-boiled egg instead of a raw one, while Fallon was not so lucky. In fact, Reynolds kept the momentum going and managed to not get a single raw egg until they were pretty well into the game, and it would turn out to be the only raw egg the actor chose out of the dozen. When an excited Reynolds trumped Fallon, who pretty much picked nothing but raw eggs during their game, he exclaimed, “I’ve never won before!”

Here’s one classy way to introduce your 2-month old to the (social media) world: dress up in black tie duds and snap the most gorgeous family portraits around.
That’s what Grammy-award winning musician did to debut her 2-month old boy Genesis Ali Dean last night. The talented singer captured the men in her life (husband Swizz Beatz, their son Egypt, and Swizz Beatz’s son from another relationship Kasseem Jr.) dressed in dandy black tuxes. With her hair in a soigne wrap, Keys channeled bohemian glamour in an embellished dark dress.
Beatz also got in on the social media action with this “Blessings” pic.
